Starfleet

My original and oldest fandom is Star Trek.

I was waiting for the new movie with mixed feelings - either J.J. Abrams was going to be the worst or the best thing that ever happened to the Star Trek franchise, and even the rave reviews that the movie had been getting didn't ease my mind.

~Weatherstone wanted to do a photoshoot for his birthday, and since we were doing a dinner and the movie I thought I'd dust off my old uniform and wear it. This is the first costume I ever made, very many years ago and it still fits me like a glove. I convinced ~jj-dreamworldz to be my sexah Romulan enemy and we were ready for an epic away mission... I'll post more in the coming days, as I really really loved this shoot.

I ended up loving the movie, a lot, and I'm planning to see it again soon. Ladies and gentlemen - this is how homage is done: perfect combination of old references done in a tasteful non-exploitative way, combined with something new and unexpected, with a hint of melancholy and promise of greatness to come.
